Indexed universal life (IUL) is permanent life insurance. It protects your family for life, and part of what you pay builds cash value that is linked to a market index, like the S&P 500.
When the index goes up, your cash value can earn interest credits, up to a cap.
When the index goes down, a floor helps protect your cash value from index losses.
Fees and the cost of insurance come out of the cash value, so how the policy is funded matters.
A bad IUL is underfunded, expensive and never reviewed. A good IUL is funded the right way, built around your goals and reviewed every year. Some families use a properly funded IUL as part of their retirement plan or to give their kids a head start.
I will give you a free second opinion and show you whether it is set up the right way. Every IUL I write is built with you personally, so book a call to get started.
Educational only, not tax, legal or investment advice. IUL interest crediting is not guaranteed; caps, participation rates and fees vary by policy. Policy loans and withdrawals reduce cash value and death benefit and may cause the policy to lapse.
